Ever
wonder how tortillas get that half-moon shape that holds
your favorite filling? A tortilla form coated with DuPont
SilverStone® non-stick makes it possible. Heat the
form in the oven, then place a tortilla over each hump
until cool, turning the flat tortilla into a folded one.
The tortilla mold is available through kitchen-supply
stores and mail-order catalogs.

Chicago Metallic's loaf pan coated with DuPont SilverStone®
non-stick was awarded the prestigious Cook's Illustrated
Magazine top rating in the September/October 2000 issue.
The loaf pan earned three stars, the magazine's highest
rating for easy release and easy cleaning, and was called
"a bargain" for the price. The magazine's testers commented
that the pan "browned the loaves most evenly, to the
deep, golden shade we desire," and they particularly
liked the size and style of the pan's handles.
In addition, Chicago-Metallic's professional-grade loaf
pan coated with DuPont SilverStone® non-stick garnered
the top rating in the professional category for its
"impressive browning performances," said magazine judges.

This
newfangled green stalk looks like something Alice would
find in her looking glass, but it's only garlic. The
garlic is nice as a garnish, or make a garlic pesto
by processing the tops along with 1/4 cup roasted pecans,
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup olive oil. Use as
a spread on crostini,
or serve over pasta or small red potatoes that have
been halved and broiled.

You
may soon be able to reach for peanut butter without the
jar. Oklahoma State University engineer and entrepreneur
Stuart Kennedy has figured out how to make peanut butter
peel off paper as some cheeses do. Peel-and-eat peanut
butter, he says, will appeal to the folks who use peel-and-eat
cheese.
