One-Pan Pasta One-Pan Pasta

An easy dish, combining simple ingredients, becomes a most satisfying meal. Feel free to substitute some of the ingredients to make your own version.

INGREDIENTS

3 quarts water
8 ounces pasta, such as fettucine or egg noodles
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups (12-ounce can) evaporated skim milk
1/2 cup chopped baked ham
1/2 cup green peas
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh minced basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup diced fresh plum tomatoes

METHOD

Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan coated with DuPont SilverStone® non-stick. Add pasta and cook 7 minutes or until just done.

Drain pasta and set aside in a colander. In the same saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until soft, about 2 minutes. Return the pasta to the saucepan and stir. Add milk, ham, peas, Parmesan, basil, salt and pepper. Place over medium heat and cook 7 to 8 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Stir in tomatoes and serve at once.
