Servings: 4 Prep: 8 minutes — Cook: 14 minutes

Maple-Glazed Brie and Onion Sandwiches Maple-Glazed Brie and Onion Sandwiches

Sweet and tangy, these simple sandwiches also make great appetizers when cut into quarters. Otherwise, pair the sandwich with the Lentil and Rice Soup.

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for grilling
3 green onions with trimmed tops, coarsely chopped
4 tablespoons maple syrup
4 ounces Brie cheese, thinly sliced
4 slices breakfast ham
8 slices raisin bread

METHOD

Melt butter in a medium-sized skillet coated with DuPont SilverStone® non-stick. Sauté the green onions over medium-high heat until nearly soft, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the maple syrup and simmer uncovered for 3 to 4 minutes; remove from heat and set aside.

Make 4 sandwiches by adding the Brie and ham evenly over 4 slices of bread. Divide the onion mixture evenly over each sandwich and top with a piece of bread. Reheat the skillet and add a little butter. Cook the sandwiches until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
