Strawberry-Fig Gallete Strawberry-Fig Gallete

A galette is an open tart made by crimping just the edges of puffed pastry and filling with either fruit or savory ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 sheet packaged frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and cut into thin slices
1 cup dried figs
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1 tablespoon water

METHOD

Preheat oven to 375°. Lightly flour a work surface and roll the pastry out into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the circle to a baking sheet coated with DuPont SilverStone® non-stick. Crimp the edges (about 1-inch deep) with your fingers, forming a rim.

Scatter the strawberries inside the crimped rim and follow with the figs. Pour the honey evenly over the top. Beat the egg with the water and brush egg wash over the pastry. Bake for about 20 minutes until the fruit is bubbling and the crust is lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack .
