Q&A's Cookware Care

What's the best way to preserve the long-term non-stick performance of my cookware with Silverstone

Q. What's the best way to ensure that cookware with SilverStone® non-stick performs beautifully from the start — and continues to perform for the life of the cookware?
A.
A few simple steps will keep your pans looking and performing their best. First, although it isn't absolutely necessary, "seasoning" the pan prior to use will ensure that you experience the "non-stick" release quality from the start. Just wipe the interior lighly with cooking oil; remove any excess with a dry paper towel. Maintenance is just as easy, since today's SilverStone® surfaces are more durable than ever. Generally, plastic, nylon or wooden utensils are best since they prevent marring, although most metal utensils are safe to use with Autograph® and SilverStone® with ScratchGuard™ technology. Always avoid using knives and cutting food in the pan and wash with hot soapy water after each use. Store carefully to prevent scratching — a hanging pot rack is a safe, convenient way to store pans.
