Beyond The Griddle - Helpful Hints

  • For easy dipping, mix batter ingredients in a shallow bowl such as a low-rim soup bowl or pie plate.

  • Keep the crusts intact for better dipping.

  • Purchase whole loaves instead of sliced bread, or make your own so it can be cut a desired thickness.

  • Flat-faced wooden tongs work well for dipping breads into the egg mixture; avoid using a fork. A flat spatula also works well.

  • Always use a pan coated with DuPont SilverStone¨ non-tick when cooking the French toast on the stovetop.

  • Corn flakes add a crunchy coating to French toast.
